Did I ever mention how much I love your purple ceramic pots, Heather? I meant to, when you showed them a few weeks back, but for some reason I think I got interrupted in posting that comment. They're beautiful!

I think that the pot in front of the trellis looks just fine, and will look even better once the beans are up on said trellis. And I also think that you're going to love the eggplant--I am growing Ichiban again this year, they were tasty AND beautiful last year. I agree, one of the prettiest veggie plants I've ever seen... but I'll have to go back out and look again for those thorns. I didn't notice them last year at all, but they look wicked cool in your photo.

Kim -- Thanks, wait until you see the blue/green pots I picked up yesterday. I have to stop going to that store. They're cheap, but I'm running out of places to put them and the price does add up when you buy 10! I've never been much of an eggplant fan (usually too mushy for me), but VPH loves eggplant and with the whole purple flower and fruit thing I figured, why not? Maybe I'll fall in love with eggplant this summer.

Great photo of the sun coming through the trees. The close up of the mushroom is pretty nifty too! in my Seattle gardens and lawn I get PLENTY of mushrooms but I have not seen one like that.

Teresa -- Thanks for coming by and saying such nice things. I have spent some time in Seattle (my dad lives in Puyallup now, but my favorite August was when he lived in Kent), it is a beautiful area of the country. You guys have so much more temperate weather (rain or not) and I'm jealous that you get to plant earlier! I've only glance at your blog, but your garden looks lovely. I'll devote some rainy day time to reading it soon.

Great containers! Mushrooms freak me out. I have a few in spots that I am always getting rid of.

Elizabeth -- They kind of freak me out too! Thanks for the compliment. I'm pretty pleased with what we've put together so far this year.
