I love that Gardening Gone Wild is hosting a photo contest. I just wish I was allowed to enter more than one photo. I had the hardest time narrowing it down between two photos, but VPH and I both liked one a little bit better for this particular contest.
My official entry is of my favorite container grouping from last year. This is also the site of my potentially favorite grouping this year, but alas Gardening Gone Wild decided to have a container photo contest in May, a little early for us northeastern gardeners. In another month my containers will stop traffic...well, foot traffic at least.
Can you spot all three containers in this photo:
I really liked this one too, but in the end there were more interesting textures in my entry above:
Of course, dear judge, if you like the second one better, feel free to pick it!
?Hyacinth beans?in the rectangular green container behind the trellis. The other two are easier to spot.
Florida has had rain!!! My bougainvilea are getting gorgeous - maybe a picture will follow.
Win or not, may I have a copy of your entry
for my 'critter' wall?

Mom -- Good job, you can see! Don't think this is a candidate for the wall, I have much better photos.

great minds think alike.
I too paired a cordyline with dicondra silver falls.
The planting is now almost 2 years old and has weathered one really harsh winter.
I like your combo a lot, especially that hot red gerbera .
Nice plantsmanship !

Michelle -- Congrats on the win! I've always enjoyed your "garden porn." Unfortunately both plants are annuals here and died a noble death over the winter. I love the dichondra silver falls and will likely use it again, but the cordyline was too stiff for me. I'm using purple fountains grass in a similiar way this year and will try and overwinter it in the basement.
