If you've ever visited downtown Middletown, CT you might be surprised that one of our favorite restaurants can be found there -- Luce. This is the 'front' entrance, which is really on the side by the parking lot:
A little bit further to the left of the entrance we have some gigantic tomato plants and a bunch of planters on shelves:
Are you beginning to see why this might be our favorite restaurant? You know how I love herbs:
We've dined inside once (rain), but our favorite spot is the sidewalk seating:
Comfortable chairs, beautiful plants surround you, and sometimes there's bizarre street action taking place. Lee's bemusedly watching a woman hang out a window across the street:
I think we've eaten here 5 or 6 times over the past 18 months and we have not had a bad bite, never mind a bad meal. From appetizers to entrees to desserts, it is all delicious, plus there's a wonderful relaxed European feel (indoors and out). It's not a short drive from our house though (35-40 minutes), and that's why we're not there more often.
I love restaurants that grow veggies! Awesome!

Meemsnyc -- It would be great even if the food were only so-so, but it's sooooo good!
Mom -- Next time you're here, we'll definitely go.
