I had a really nice planter on the kitchen table filled with golden oregano, basil, rosemary, and edible ornamental peppers:
But it didn't do so well under my really inattentive care. I don't know if I watered it too much, not enough, it got too much sun, or not enough, but it didn't thrive. The golden oregano survived though and some hot & spicy oregano I stuck in there sometime in the past month seems to have rooted. I forgot to do anything with the bulbs I so carefully saved last summer, but bare dirt, container indoors...I stuck a bunch of bulbs in here last week and so far so good:
At least there's something growing in the house! I've been cutting up an old mini-blind making plant labels, sorting seeds, and making plans. One of these days I might actually plant some seeds. Where are you in your gardening process?
It pays to have a smart kid. I had no access to mini-blinds - but - I got permission from the window decor department of my local Home Depot to remove the short ends from the 'trim-to-fit' blinds' barrel.I'm sure they thought I was either nuts and/or really cheap but they work wonderfully, and it is an endless (and free) supply.

I am in pain from cleaning out gardens. Let the games begin. Wasn't it a beautiful day? I think your dish garden adds green for this day.

Mom -- That's a great tip. If I run out of these I will check out my local HD.
Layanee -- It was a beautiful day, but I didn't get to go out into it. I'm hoping I'll be able to at least clear the patio garden tomorrow so the tulips, daffodils, and crocuses can stand tall and pretty. At the very least I really need to get some seeds started.
